Swarovski crtstal necklace for $30 in a local mall, can it be of good quality?

I saw this in a south american ethinic shop, looks very beautiful, how can I say it is original or fake and will it last long esp if it is exposed to tropical sun/dust and sweaty skin?. I thought swarovski crystals are expensive.|||Yes, swarovski crystals are expensive because they are of superior quality. If you are experienced you might be able to recognize them. Sweat and water won't really harm them (unless you have the coated variety), but dust will scratch them, Quartz is much harder than glass.

A lot of sellers call simple cut glass or even crystal/lead crystal swarovski crystal without the 'stones' actually being genuine. I would very much doubt that you are looking at genuine swarovski crystals.
