What is a suitable lens for photographing Swarovski crystal?

I own a Canon T2i and would like to photograph Swarovski crystal. What Canon or other aftermarket lens under $400 would be a good option for me? thanks|||Actually the Canon 50 mm f/2.5 macro would be the perfect lens for doing that and it is only $300, so there is no need to buy a lower quality generic lens

You will also need a light tent and some strong lighting as well as some skills lighting glass and crystal.

You can use Yahoo Search for learning those techniques and this website as well.

NOTE: Don't forget you will need a sturdy tripod and remote shutter release too.|||How big are the pieces you want to photograph?

I just got the 100mm macro (Used, but like new) off craigslist for $400 and have seen them on e-bay for under $450 including shipping. For small items, it is pretty nice. A Nickel will just about fill the narrow dimension of the frame.

Otherwise, the 28-135 is good for close-in work and has macro focus (1:3approx). It is $480 new and also common on e-bay or craigslist. The zoom lenses are a little more prone to dust and mold, use common sense in your purchases.|||canon 50mm macro, or tamron 90mm macro (what i use mostly),

shooting translucent objects in a light tent is a terrible idea......... professionals use back lighting and black reflectors on the sides to light translucent subjects............
