I am making 2 mother's bracelets so I need like 1 clear, 2 emerald, 2 white opal, 1 ruby, etc. I just need 16 beads total. Is there anywhere I can buy these singularly? Michaels and online they are sold in packages for like $5 a piece, and when I need a total of 9 different jewels, that gets a little pricey.

Many bead stores sell them individually in a variety of sizes. You didn't indicate the size you need, but they can be anywhere from pennies each for smaller sizes to several dollars each for quite large pieces.
